Sharjah GCC Theatre Festival – 3rd Edition

  • Five performances are going to compete for the awards
  •  "Symphony Without Strings" written by Ismail Abdullah and directed by Mohammed Al Ameri (Sharjah Theatre Group), representing the UAE.
  •  “Sabkha” written and directed by Abdulla Al Aaber for The Arabian Gulf Group, representing Kuwait.
  •  “Nooh Al Ain", written by Jamal Saqr and directed by Anwar Ahmed for the Awal Theatre Group, representing Bahrain.
  • "Hamed Al-Henna" written by Abbas Al Hayek and directed by Yousef Al Balushi for the Mezun Theatre Group, representing Sultanate of Oman.
  • Saudi Arabia, which won the best performance award in the last edition, presenting the play "Habous" by Saleh Al Zamanan and directed by Nooh Al Jumanan for Al Watan Theatre Group.
  • Seminars
  • The Gulf Theatre Council is hosting an event for actors and theatre enthusiasts to discuss the stakes and future of theatrical practice in the Gulf.
  • The festival will be accompanied by an intellectual forum titled "Gulf Theatre and Folklore" with speakers: Marai Al Halayan (UAE), Sami Al Jamaan (Saudi Arabia), Jassim Al Batashi (Oman), Abdullah Yousif, Yousif Al Hamdan, and Abdullah Al Swaid (Bahrain), and finally Sakina Murad, and Faisal Al Qahtani (Kuwait).
