Sharjah Desert Theatre Festival - Forth Edition

The festival begins with the original play titled "Maitha" by Sultan Neyadi, directed by Mohammed Al Amri from the United Arab Emirates. The Festival continues with series of performances, including  the play "Love the Desert" from the Sultanate of Oman, written by Naim Fateh Al Noor and directed by Yusuf Al Balochi,  "Love and hate" written by Al Ghali Akimeesh and directed by  Aziz Iblagh from the Kingdom of Morocco, and "Modern" written and directed by Altaqi Saeed From Mauritania.
 
The programme also includes the festival:
 
  • Critique seminars after the performances.
  • Competitions on general theatre knowledge and information related to the festival, in addition to photography competitions, appearances by notable social network personalities, among other activities aimed at involving the public in the Festival.
  • The intellectual talk titled "The Methods and Contents of the Desert Theatre.”
  • Participating countries: United Arab Emirates, Tunisia , Mauritania , Sultanate of Oman, and Egypt.
  • Participating researchers and playwrights: Mor'e Al-Hilyan (UAE), Idris  Qarqoura (Algeria), Mostafa Ramdani, Hassan Yousufi (Morocco), Jean Qassis and Suzanne Abu Ali (Lebanon).
  • The Talk includes testimonials in the light of the experience by directors who participated in the past editions of the Festival: Altaqi Saeed (Mauritania ) Mohammed Al Ameri (United Arab Emirates), Harun Kilani (Algeria) and Mohammed Al Damour (Jordan).
