Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Egyptian capital, Cairo, witnessed the launch of the 25th edition of the Sharjah Cultural Honoring Forum, which celebrated four Egyptian writers: novelist and short story writer Al-Sayed Negm, critic Dr. Abdel Hakim Radi, critic and novelist Dr. Camellia Abdel Fattah, and short story writer Mohsin Younis.
The forum is held in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to honor distinguished literary figures who have contributed to serving Arab culture. This marks the seventh time the forum is held in Egypt, following previous editions that honored a number of Egyptian creatives.
The honoring ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Supreme Council of Culture in Cairo, in the presence of His Excellency Abdallah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Department; Professor Dr. Ashraf Al Azzazi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt; Mr. Talal Abdallah, representative of the UAE Embassy in Egypt; along with a large number of Egyptian and Arab writers, thinkers, and intellectuals.
