An Intellectual Seminar Discussing “The Affective Trend in Arabic Poetry and Its Transformations”
The intellectual seminar accompanying the 22nd Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival discussed a notable critical topic titled “The Affective Trend in Arabic Poetry and Its Transformations.” The seminar was held over two sessions at the House of Poetry in Sharjah.
The first session featured Dr. Saeed Bakour (Morocco) and Dr. Ahmed Al-Jawwa (Tunisia), and was chaired by the Egyptian critic Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Abu Al-Shawarib. The second session included Dr. Mahmoud Al-Dabaa (Egypt) and Dr. Omar Al-Amri (Jordan), and was chaired by critic Lamia Al-Aqrabi (Tunisia).
The seminar was attended by His Excellency Abdallah bin Mohammed Al-Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture, and Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Directorate at the Department of Culture, along with a large number of poets, critics, and those interested in literary criticism.
Researchers and critics focused on the topic of the affective trend in Arabic poetry, tracing its development across various stages of literary evolution within the poetic landscape.
