The House of Wisdom Witnesses the Activities of the International Seminar of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial
The House of Wisdom in Sharjah witnessed the launch of the activities of the accompanying international seminar for the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, with the presence of Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs Department at the Sharjah Department of Culture and the Biennial's Director, along with a large number of participants, calligraphers, artists, and lovers of Arabic calligraphy.
The seminar comes as part of the theoretical aspect of the Biennial, highlighting the depth and history of Arabic calligraphy through research presented by a group of researchers, specialists, and critics in the art of calligraphy.
The seminar, titled "Arabic Calligraphy-
Approaches & Schools," discussed several topics, including "The Ottoman School of Arabic Calligraphy" by speaker Dr. Idham Mohammed Hanash from Iraq, "The Heritage of the Arabic School in Arabic Calligraphy" by speaker Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan from Egypt, and "Arabic Calligraphy – The Experience of Sharjah" by speaker Taj Al-Sir Hassan from Sudan.
At the end of the seminar, Mohammed Qaseer presented the researchers with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contributions, which shed light on an important aspect of Arabic calligraphy.
