10 Poets Shine at the Ivory Coast Arab Poetry Forum

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire hosted the fourth edition of the Arab Poetry Forum in the capital, Abidjan, organized by the Department of Culture in Sharjah with the participation of ten poets.

The Arab Poetry Forums in Africa come in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, which aim to extend a bridge of communication for the Arabic language and spread it across the world. They also seek to instill a love of the language and the word, while providing promising opportunities to showcase poetic talents.

The forum was attended by H.E. Ali Yousif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire; H.E. Adnan Al Marzouqi, General Manager of Emirates Airlines in Côte d’Ivoire and Benin; Dr. Konaté Haroun, President of the Islamic University of Africa; Dr. Diaby Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language at Al-Furqan Islamic University; along with a number of poets, researchers, academics, intellectuals, and lovers of the Arabic word and poetry.
