Three Artworks Embody “Lantern” of Sharjah Islamic Arts at 1971 – Design Space

Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Directorate of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture in Sharjah and Director of the Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival, inaugurated three artworks—“Through Stillness, Light” by One Third Studio, “Star in Storage” by Jordanian artist Omar Darwish, and “The Space Between” by Emirati artist Ruqaya Al Hashimi— in the presence of Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq). The event took place at 1971 – Design Space on Al Majaz Island, as part of the 26th edition of the festival, with a number of artists and media professionals in attendance.

Al Qaseer and the attendees toured the exhibitions, exploring the details of the artists’ works, which seek to showcase the creative spirit of Islamic arts and the concepts that add an aesthetic dimension, reflecting the core meaning of the festival’s theme, “Lantern.”
