Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the ninth edition of the Kairouan Arabic Poetry Festival was launched in the city of Carthage, the capital of Tunisia. The festival, organized by the Sharjah Department of Culture in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs, spans three days and features poets, intellectuals, and critics from Tunisia, Libya, and Algeria.
The opening ceremony took place at the House of Wisdom in Carthage, with the attendance of His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Sharjah Department of Culture; Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department; Dr. Khaled Al Kashir, Director-General of the National Library, representing the Tunisian Minister of Cultural Affairs, Her Excellency Amina Al Sarrafi; and Hala Wartani, Director of the House of Wisdom, along with a distinguished gathering of poets, academics, and poetry enthusiasts, all amid extensive local and Arab media coverage.
