As part of the eleventh edition of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs Department at the Sharjah Department of Culture and the Biennial's Director, inaugurated the photographic exhibition "Between Letters & Light," in collaboration with the Union of Arab Photographers. The event took place at the House of Wisdom, attended by Adeeb Shaaban, the union president, along with a large number of artists and photography enthusiasts.

The exhibition featured 30 photographic works by Emirati and Arab photographers, reflecting a vibrant aspect of Arabic calligraphy in the UAE and beyond.

The Union of Arab Photographers once again presents itself through the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, showcasing a new collection of distinctive works by Emirati and Arab photographers. These photographers submitted their pieces for the competition organized by the union titled "Lenses Capturing the Beauty of Calligraphy."

The winners of the competition are: First place: Yousef Naser Mohammed from Egypt, Second place: Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Aidi from Saudi Arabia, and Third place: Abdullah Hussein Al Sheikh from Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Mohammed Al-Qaseer toured the exhibition, viewing the participating works and affirming that the ongoing collaboration with the Arab Photographers Union has resulted in numerous events that contribute to creating a comprehensive creative scene, where the renewing image reflects the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial.

Arab photographers have found a clear path to translate their ideas inspired by the exhibition's title "Between Letters and Light" into images that blend the aesthetics of precise lighting and the refined art inspired by various forms of Arabic calligraphy, culminating in the creation of inspiring photographic panels for the eye and the audience.

This exhibition serves as a beautiful extension of previous exhibitions that have taken place in various locations, reflecting the beauty of visual culture alongside the audience's desire and thirst for this beautiful visual diversity, aiming to establish remarkable connections between the ideas of Arab photographers and the tastes of the audience.
