Tetouan Festival of Moroccan Poets Concludes Its Seventh Edition
Moroccan Poets: The Patronage of the Ruler of Sharjah Has Strengthened the Presence of Poetry and Supported Young Talents

The seventh edition of the Festival of Moroccan Poets concluded amid a celebratory atmosphere in the city of Tetouan, known as the “White Dove,” reflecting the depth of Morocco’s poetic heritage and the continued vitality of its creative spirit. The festival was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Organized by the Sharjah Department of Culture in collaboration with Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the three-day event attracted a distinguished public audience.
The closing ceremony took place at the Iklyle Cultural Center in Tetouan, attended by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture; Rasheed Al Mustafa, Head of the Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication of Morocco; Dr. Yousef Al Fahri, President of the Higher School of Education in Martil; Mokhlis Al Saghir, Director of the House of Poetry in Tetouan; along with a large number of writers, intellectuals, and university students.
More than 50 poets, writers, intellectuals, artists, and critics participated in the festival, reflecting a strong appreciation for poetry and its creators. The event also marked the conclusion of the seventh edition of the Poetry Writing Workshop organized by the House of Poetry in Tetouan in cooperation with the Arabic Language Faculty at the Higher School of Education in Martil, from which more than 80 male and female students graduated.
The current edition of the festival also celebrated 18 students who won the “Regional Competition for Pioneers of the Arabic Language,” organized by the House of Poetry in Tetouan in partnership with a number of secondary and preparatory educational institutions.
