Arab Poetry Forum in Côte d’Ivoire Hosts 10 Male and Female Poets

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire hosted the fifth edition of the Arab Poetry Forum, organised by the Directorate of Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture as part of the Arab Poetry Forums in Africa.

Held in cooperation with cultural and literary institutions in the capital, Abidjan, the forum brought together 10 male and female poets and was attended by a number of academics, intellectuals, and enthusiasts of the Arabic language, poetry, and literature.

The forum forms part of Sharjah’s cultural efforts to strengthen the presence of the Arabic language across the African cultural landscape, support the poetry movement, and encourage young literary talents to pursue creativity and self-expression. It also seeks to broaden opportunities for cultural exchange between Africa and the Arab world, reinforcing the role of Arabic poetry as a means of human connection and a bridge between cultures and peoples.
