His Excellency Al Houssein Ould Meddou, Mauritania’s Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, praised the cultural efforts led by Sharjah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. He affirmed that Sharjah’s cultural project has transcended geographical boundaries, reaching countries across the Arab world, Africa, and beyond through pioneering initiatives that have supported writers and intellectuals while strengthening the presence of Arab culture.
His remarks came during a meeting between Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture, and His Excellency Ould Meddou at the Ministry’s headquarters on the eve of the opening of the 28th edition of the Sharjah Cultural Honoring Forum, which is being held in Mauritania for the fifth time to honour distinguished Mauritanian cultural figures.
