Sharjah Celebrates and Honors a Group of Jordanian Intellectuals

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Cultural HonoringForum continued its celebratory tour across Arab cities and capitals, reaffirming its strong presence as a leading initiative that enriches the Arab cultural scene and honors Arab creatives in their home countries.

In its latest stop, the forum arrived in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where the 26th edition was held, honoring four Jordanian creatives: translator Dr. Mohammed Asfour, critic Dr. Nayef Al Ajlouni, writer and heritage researcher Dr. Ahmed Sharif Al Zoubi, and poet Mariam Al Saifi.

The forum is held in line with the directives of the Ruler of Sharjah to honor prominent literary figures who have contributed to contemporary Arab culture. This marks the sixth time the forum has been hosted in Jordan, following previous editions that celebrated a number of intellectuals.

Amid a festive atmosphere marked by official, cultural, and family attendance, the event took place at the National Library in Amman. It was attended by His Excellency Abdallah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Dr. Nidal Al Ayasrah, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, representing Minister of Culture Mustafa Al Rawashdeh; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Department; Hamad Al Matrooshi, Chargé d’Affaires at the UAE Embassy in Jordan; as well as a large number of Jordanian and Arab writers, thinkers, and cultural figures.
