Sharjah –
As part of the second day of activities for the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity – First Edition – 28th Edition, organized by the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture in Sharjah, the Cultural Palace hosted on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, a workshop on Contemporary Poetic Rhetorical Techniques, with participation from a number of Arab academics, critics, and poets.
The workshop included two sessions; the first was a scholarly critical session featuring a group of distinguished academics and researchers. Dr. Nabila Kotb Roshdy presented a research paper titled "The Rhetoric of Writing Contemporary Fragmented Poetry", in which she explored the rhetorical and intellectual structure of this modern poetic style, focusing on its philosophical symbolism and deep introspection.
The activities continued with a poetry session featuring a number of Arab poets, including Alaa Allah Taher Alaa Allah, Mohammed Abijo, and Sherihan Al-Tayeb Kalbash, who presented poetic readings that varied in themes and styles, expressing human experiences in a manner that blended authenticity with innovation.
