Marrakech Festival of Moroccan Poetry Concludes Its Seventh Edition
Participants Commend Sharjah’s Leading Role in Supporting Arab Culture

The Marrakech Festival of Moroccan Poetry concluded the events of its seventh edition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Organized by the Department of Culture in Sharjah in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the festival ran for three days, bringing together a wide participation of poets, critics, intellectuals, and artists from Morocco and around the world.
The closing ceremony was attended by H.E. Abdallah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department; Rashid Al Mostafa, Head of Cooperation at the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Culture Sector; and Abdelhaq Mifrani, Director of the House of Poetry in Marrakech, along with a distinguished group of academics, students, and poetry enthusiasts.
Over the course of three days, the city of Marrakech transformed into an open platform for creativity, welcoming poets from across Moroccan cities to form a national poetic gathering celebrating the beauty and depth of the word. This edition stood out for its remarkable cultural and artistic vibrancy, featuring the participation of more than 40 Moroccan and international poets, critics, and artists, amid a large public audience that reflected poetry’s enduring place in Morocco’s cultural consciousness.
Participants praised Sharjah’s pioneering role in supporting Arab culture and nurturing creativity and creators, affirming that its continuous initiatives contribute to strengthening cultural exchange and reviving the literary and artistic scene across the Arab world. They also lauded the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, which has transformed the Emirate into a beacon of knowledge and a hub for Arab and global cultural activity.
